Don Presant is the son of a Canadian immigration officer and spent a significant part of his early life overseas. Following a degree in Communication Studies at Concordia University, Don worked as a video editor, then a writer and director at TVOntario, the educational broadcast organization for that province.

While at TVOntario, Don founded and led the Online Group, a team that proposed and developed an innovative online communications strategy that took TVOntario onto the Internet in 1994.

Don left TVOntario in 2000 to found Learning Agents as a multimedia production and consulting company focused on online workplace learning and career development. Don moved to Manitoba that same year, working first with Red River College then an expanding network of partners and clients in public, private and non-profit sectors.

In 2002-2003, he built the multi-sectoral partnerships and the collaborative system for Career Destination: MANITOBA, an online multimedia gallery of local career role models targeted at Manitoba youth. This initiative has since been adapted to the needs of skilled immigrants in "Career Destination: MANITOBA for Newcomers". Don continues to play a role in several other provincial and national projects for Newcomers.

Don remains committed to building human capital and community through partnership, collaboration and networked learning. He has acted as an advisor to the International Centre's "Settle Manitoba" and CAPLA's "Recognition for Learning" initiatives and is developing and producing new innovations to meet the needs of Youth, Aboriginals and Newcomers.
